A rare, small Parisian bracket clock from the era of Louis XIV circa 1720. Case and bracket in Boulle, marquetry veneered with tortoiseshell and engraved brass inlays. This type of inlay work was a specialty of the famous Parisian cabinetmaker Charles André Boulle, between 1642 and 1732. The bronze-cast decorations are finely crafted and gilded. Original, intact, and serviced 8-day movement with
